NONDEGREE TEACHEREDUCATION PROGRAMSTEACHER EDUCATION READING STRAND:READING COURSES IN ELEMENTARYAND SECONDARY EDUCATIONProgram DescriptionThe reading courses in elementary education (four courses) and secondaryeducation (two courses) are designed for teachers seeking tomeet <strong>Maryland</strong> certification and recertification requirements. Theyprovide a thorough foundation in the theories, processes, and acquisition<strong>of</strong> reading needed for the teaching <strong>of</strong> reading to elementary andsecondary students.
