Resolution of the City of Jersey City, N.J.City Clerk File No.Agenda No.Approved:TITLE:Res. 09-90710.Z.LOOCT 282009RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCEOF A GRANT A WARD FROM THE HUDSONCOUNTY OPEN SPACE TRUST FUND FORCOLUMBIA PARKS IMPROVEMENTSCOUNCILof the following resolution:offered and moved adoptionWHEREAS, the City of Jersey City ("City") was designated to receive $100,000 from theHudson County Open Space Trust Fund; andWHEREAS, the City of Jersey City would like to accept the funds from the Hudson CountyOpen Space Trust for the purposes of acquiring, preserving and maintaining open spacewithin the City; andWHEREAS, this grant will assist in increasing the availability ofrecreational resourcesthrough open space acquisition and conservation, and development; andWHEREAS, the Columbia Park Improvements and renovations wil include removal andreplacement of existing play equipment, new lighting, asphalt, concrete curb replacement,chain-line fence, drainage, street curb, interior curb and concrete foundation making the parkADA complaint; andWHEREAS, the toddler playground at Columbia Park wil be completely overhauled andrenovated; andWHEREAS, the acceptance ofthis grant will enhance efforts by the City of Jersey City tocreate recreational resources for the residence and tourst of Jersey City.NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Municipal Council ofthe City ofJerseyCity:i. Jerramiah T. Healy, Mayor and/or Brian O'Reily, Business Administrator, arehereby authorized to execute a contract and/or grant agreement with the HudsonCounty Open Space Trust Fund Grant Progrm; and2. The Office of Management and Budget is authorized to establish an account in theamount of $l 00,000 for the Columbia Park Improvements.
