City Clerk File No. Res. 09-892Agenda No.lO.UApproved: OCT 2 8 2009TITLE:RESOLUTION OF THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JERSEY CITYDIRECTING THE JERSEY CITY PLANING BOAR TO REVIEW ARESOLUTION OF THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL DESIGNATING BLOCK 792, LOT242 AS AN ARA IN NEED OF REHAILITATIONWHEREAS, the Local Redevelopment and Housing Law, N.J.S.A. 40A:12A-14.a., providesthat the governng body of a muncipality may, by resolution, determine that a delineated areais an area in need of rehabilitation if certin conditions are found to exist with the delineatedarea; andWHEREAS, among the conditions precedent to makng such a determnation is a finding that"more than half of the housing stock in the delineated area is at least 50 years old, or amajority of the water and sewer infastrctue in the delineated area is more than 50 years oldand in need of repair and substantial maintenance;" andWHEREAS, the Municipal Council seeks a review by, and recommendation of, the JerseyCity Planng Board, with regard to a proposed resolution ofthe Muncipal Councildetermining that the delineated area, known as Block 792, Lot 242 is an area in need ofrehabilitation; andWHEREAS, a copy of the proposed resolution of the Muncipal Council of the City of JerseyCity is attched hereto for transmittl to the Jersey City Plang Board;NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Muncipal Council ofthe City of JerseyCity that the proposed resolution entitled "Resolution of the Muncipal Council ofthe City ofJersey City Designating Block 792, Lot 242 as an Area in Need ofRehabilitation" be, andhereby is submitted to the Jersey City Plang Board for its review and recommendations,including any modifications which may be recommended.~~Robert D.
