System OperationThe MIDI Control page allows you to specify mapping of MIDI Non-registeredparameters, System Exclusive messages or Program Change messages to the300 registers. The button directly above "AUTO" allows you to set this MIDIMode.Page TwoMIDI Mode and Map TableMIDI Mode: AUTO CHNLP Chg Map: EDIT DUMPOn the upper line, selecting "AUTO" activates output automation on the 300. Thechoices are OFF, SysEx, Non-registered parameters, and Program ChangeOnly. When the AUTO Mode is set to "OFF", the 300 will not output MIDI data.Note: In "Program Change Only" automation mode, effect registers R29-50 arenot transmitted as their sequence numbers fall outside of the range of what canbe legally represented by a MIDI data byte (0x00-0x7F). Therefore:program change # 0x00-0x63 = E: P1-100program change # 0x64-0x7F = E: R1-28(For more information on Automation, see MIDI Operation.)Selecting "CHNL" allows you to set the system and machine channels on whichthe 300 can send and receive messages. Possible setttings are: 1-16, OMNI. Allbulk dump and SysEx messages, except Program Change, follow the systemchannel, while all generic MIDI and Non-registered parameter messages followthe machine channel assignment.Selecting "EDIT" allows you to speciy the MIDI mapping mode. The threechoices available are: OFF, FIX or MAP. For complete information on the MIDITable, see Chapter 7: MIDI Operation.Selecting "DUMP" allows you to dump all registers, the current setup, the MIDIMap Table, or a MIDI Timecode Event List.3-23
