1988, she was asked to join the faculty <strong>of</strong> the School <strong>of</strong> Eurythmy in SpringValley. She became a member <strong>of</strong> the Eurythmy Spring Valley Ensemble withwhom she has been performing throughout North <strong>America</strong> and Europe.Virginia Sease was a <strong>Waldorf</strong> teacher in Los Angeles and a member <strong>of</strong> thePedagogical Section Council in North <strong>America</strong>. She now serves as a member<strong>of</strong> the Executive Council (Vorstand) <strong>of</strong> the world-wide AnthroposophicalSociety in Dornach, Switzerland, and is leader <strong>of</strong> the Section for Eurythmy,Speech, and Music.Jeanne Simon-Macdonald is a teacher <strong>of</strong> eurythmy at Sunbridge College,Spring Valley, New York. She has worked as a therapist, teacher, and performerinternationally for over 20 years, giving many performances in recentyears based on Mary Oliver’s poetry.Rick Spaulding holds an A.B. in English (Harvard University) and a M.Ed.(Loyola). He taught at the elementary school level for seven years, and asan English teacher in a Chicago public high school for 21 years. His workin Anthroposophy includes serving as a discussion group leader <strong>of</strong> a publicstudy group focusing on Steiner’s basic books (12 years) and, since 1981,lecturing on various literary figures and their works.Philip Thatcher was born in Reno, Nevada, in 1939, and he emigrated toCanada in 1964. He has taught history, English, and drama at the Vancouver<strong>Waldorf</strong> High School since 1984. He has also served on the Council <strong>of</strong> theAnthroposophical Society in Canada, and as an editor <strong>of</strong> Aurore, the journal<strong>of</strong> the Society, since 1994. In the spring <strong>of</strong> 2000, he published the novel,Raven’s Eye, the first volume in a trilogy <strong>of</strong> quest stories.Edward Warren was born October 27, 1953, in Scranton, Pennsylvania.He majored in English and modern history at Harvard University and theUniversity <strong>of</strong> Oslo. He studied <strong>Waldorf</strong> education at the Goetheanum inDornach, Switzerland. He spent twenty years in the <strong>Waldorf</strong> school movementin Switzerland and Norway as a student, class teacher, and highschool teacher in English, history and religion. He has conducted researchfor twenty-three years in teenage personality development. For the last twoyears he has worked as manager <strong>of</strong> pr<strong>of</strong>essional development for McKinsyand Company. Author <strong>of</strong> Thinking as a Spiritual Activity, Ted is currentlyworking on a second book.353
