2- The students′ general ability of English language :2.1 High achievers 2.2 Low achieversB- The dependent variable represented in :The students′ learning in English grammar .3.5 Instrumentation :To achieve the aims of the study , the researcher used the following tool :3.5.1 Achievement test :A pre- post achievement test prepared by the teacher to measure thesubjects′ achievement .It was used as a pre -test applied before theexperiment and as post test applied after the experiment .(Appendix A .4page 157 ).1. The general aims of the test :The test aimed at measuring the effect of concept maps strategy onachieving English grammar among the ninth graders . B- comprehension :This scope includes eight items that measure student comprehension thestudents′ have to correct the underlined words if necessary .C- Applying :This scope includes fifteen items that measure students ′ comprehensionand understanding . Students have to use the word between brackets and toform a new sentence .D- Analyzing :This scope includes seven items that measure knowledge andcomprehension . Students have to analyze the sentences to show theirunderstanding .E – Concept Maps :This scope includes three items with nine questions :- The first item measures stude nts′ knowledge and understanding ,students have to put the concepts in the correct box to build ameaningful concept .- The second item the students have to put the connecters on thesuitable arrows , to show the relation between concepts .- The third item students have to put the concepts and the connectors onthe suitable places to make a meaningful and understandable conceptmaps .99
