IINTRODUCTION1.1 Study statement and backgroundLanguage is one of the main features that human being is characterizedwith , so it is a social as well as an individual phenomenon that enablesman to express his feelings , thoughts and culture . In the age ofglobalization where the world has become a small vill age , people tend tolearn each others′ languages . <strong>The</strong> demand for learning <strong>English</strong> languageincreased , however the history of teaching and learning foreign languagesoften appears to have been a history of failure ( Kara : 1992 ; 9-21).Thoughmany theories, studies and researches tackled th is issue , each tried toprovide teachers and learners with better way of learning foreign languages( Lewis and Hill :1995 ;22 )<strong>English</strong> being the most wide spread language becomes an issue ofinterest that increases rapidly . In Palestine we can find different centers forteaching <strong>English</strong> , some of them are foreign and they provide programs for<strong>English</strong> language in almost every centre ,to increase its possibility ofdissemination . Also the governments in the Middle East including thePalestinian Authority provide programs for <strong>English</strong> language in everyeducational place ( Keshta : 2000 ; 4 ) .Realizing the importance of<strong>English</strong>, the Palestinian Authority began its project of teaching <strong>English</strong>1
