WebSphere MQ Configuration ConsiderationsConfiguration 3 – symbolic linksThe recommended configuration for Active/Active configurations without LVM and with a largenumber of queue managers is the use of symbolic links. In this case one or more dedicated mountpoints are created (e.g. /mq). A LifeKeeper protected file system is mounted there andsubdirectories for each queue manager are created (e.g. /mq/QUEUE!MANAGER!NAME/logand /mq/QUEUE!MANAGER!NAME/qmgrs). The QMDIR and QMLOGDIR directories arethen linked to this location.Figure 5 File system layout 3 - symbolic linksLifeKeeper for Linux 15
