LifeKeeper Configuration TasksLogging LevelStop TimeoutValuesYou can set the logging level of the WebSphere MQRecovery Kit to four presets:• ERRORIn this log level, only errors are logged. Noinformational messages are logged.• INFORMATIONAL (default)In this log level, LifeKeeper informationalmessages about start, stop and recovery ofresources are logged.• DEBUGIn this log level, the informational LifeKeepermessages and the command outputs from allWebSphere MQ commands in the restore, remove and recovery scripts are logged.• FINEIn this log level, all command outputs fromWebSphere MQ commands issued in start, stop, recovery and quickCheck scripts are logged.Additional debug messages are also logged. It is recommended to set this debug level only fordebugging purpose. As quickCheck actions arealso logged, this fills up the log files each time aquickCheck for the WebSphere MQ queuemanager runs. The default is INFORMATIONAL. This is equivalentto normal LifeKeeper logging of other recovery kits.Note: Independent of the logging level setting,WebSphere MQ errors during start, stop, recovery orduring the check routine are always logged with thecomplete command output of the last command run.The WebSphere MQ Recovery Kit stops the queuemanager in 3 steps:1. immediate stop2. preemptive stop3. kill all queue manager processesThe timeout values specified determine the time theRecovery Kit waits in steps 1 and 2 for a successfulcompletion. If this timeout is reached, the next step inthe shutdown process is issued. The default for theimmediate and preemptive shutdown timeouts is 20seconds.44 WebSphere MQ Recovery Kit Administration Guide
