PAGE 64 * <strong>Morgan</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> Faculty Handbook3.8.2 Visitor ParkingVisitor’s parking is available in the <strong>Morgan</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> Parking Garage which isequipped with surveillance cameras and an attendant on duty normally between thehours of 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on regular work days. MSU Police will provide routinepatrol. The garage closes at 11:30 p.m.; cars remaining after that time will be subject toticketing and/or towing. During special events, hours of operation will change asservice dictates.3.8.3 Handicapped ParkingHandicapped parking spaces are available for a fee to persons possessing a <strong>State</strong> ofMaryland Handicapped Motor Vehicle Registration and a valid <strong>University</strong> parkingpermit.3.8.4 PenaltiesFines and penalties for violation of registration, parking, and traffic violations are in theform of ticketing or towing. <strong>Morgan</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> is part of the Maryland FlaggingSystem. Unpaid bills will result in vehicle registration being withheld. For additionalinformation, please refer to the <strong>University</strong> Parking and Traffic Regulations (available atPolice Base Station).3.9 Identification CardsAll <strong>Morgan</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> employees must have a valid <strong>University</strong> ID card, the BearNecessity Card, on their person when conducting business as a <strong>University</strong> employee.Identification cards are issued after the Office of Human Resources provides the newhire with a completed Employee Identification Form. The employee should take theform, along with a valid photo identification (Drivers License, <strong>State</strong> ID, Military ID, orPassport) to the Bear Necessity Card Office located in the Montebello Complex, RoomD128 to obtain the official Bear Card. The initial card is free; however, lost or abusedcards will be replaced for a fee of $25.00. Cards that malfunction for no apparent reasonwill be replaced at no charge. For additional information, please call the Bear NecessityCard Office at 443-885-4080.3.10 Emergency ProceduresEmergency circumstances may arise in which campus activities may bepostponed, when the safety and general welfare of students, faculty and staffmay be adversely affected (i.e., power outages, weather, etc.). During eachoccurrence, the <strong>University</strong> will advise faculty, staff and students of theservices to be postponed, the persons who will be affected, and the period ofdelay through the following means of communication:• WEAA-FM 88.9 (<strong>University</strong> radio station) 410.319. 8888• MSU Operator Code-A-Phone, 443.885. 3564/3807• A variety of other radio and television stations including• WBAL and WCAO (AM/FM) , WFBR, WWIN and WEBB.• Text MessagingIf you are unable to obtain information through the above, you may contact the<strong>University</strong> Police Department at 443. 885.3100.
