Introduction1.3 PrecautionsThis section contains safety information and advice on how to avoid damage to the<strong>Integrator</strong>/<strong>CP</strong> baseboard and core module.1.3.1 Ensuring safetyTo power the system, connect the power supply provided with the <strong>Integrator</strong>/<strong>CP</strong> productpackage to baseboard connector J4 (or an equivalent supply to J3). The core module ispowered by the baseboard.WarningTo avoid a safety hazard, only Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV) equipment must beconnected to the <strong>Integrator</strong>/<strong>CP</strong>.1.3.2 Preventing electrostatic damageThe <strong>Integrator</strong> system is intended for use within a laboratory or engineeringdevelopment environment. Because it is supplied without an enclosure, it is sensitive toelectrostatic discharges and electromagnetic emission.CautionTo avoid damage to the boards you must observe the following precautions:• Never subject the boards to high electrostatic potentials.• Always wear a grounding strap when handling the boards.• Only hold the boards by the edges.• Avoid touching the component pins or any other metallic element.Do not use the boards near equipment that could be:• sensitive to electromagnetic emissions (such as medical equipment)• a transmitter of electromagnetic emissions.1-10 Copyright © 2002 <strong>ARM</strong> Limited.
