16: Script be detected only at run time because the Script specification editor cannot know ahead of time what type of data will be supplied. Script Specification Editor Figure 16-1 shows the Script specification editor. The Script Settings panel contains the specifications to be run by the script, in the order in which they are to be run. Figure 16-1. Script specification editor To create scripts, drag the desired tool specifications, one at a time, from the Waveform Tools window to the Script Settings pane of the Script specification editor. controlling the order in which it is run. You can also change the order of the specifications in the script by dragging them. You might be interested in only some of the output files generated by the script. Each specification contains a Keep Output File checkbox. This allows you to keep only the output files of interest. When this checkbox is selected, you can edit the output options of the specification directly from the Script specification editor. Editing Specifications from within the Script Specification Editor You can double-click on any specification in the Script Settings pane and launch the appropriate editor to edit the specification. When you close the editor, the Waveform Tools prompt you to specify how you want the changes applied (see Figure 16-2). Figure 16-2. Close dialog You can choose to save your changes two ways: • Script Only: saves only the version of the specification that is part of the script. • Script and Tool Database: saves both the original version of the specification (as it appears in the Waveform Tools window) and the version that is part of the script. You can also drag changed specifications from a script to the Waveform Tools window. If a specification of the same name already exists, you will be asked if you want to replace the existing one or not.
