8: Combine Files
Merging Categories accumulates all segments for the selected categories into a new
category, resulting in a file with one category containing the selected segments. The
effect is to collapse several categories into a single category. You can optionally carry
the selected and/or unselected categories to the new file. Figure 8-5 shows the
Combine Files editor for Merging Categories.

The following are brief descriptions of the numbered items from Figure 8-5.
1. Carry Unselected Categories to New File. Allows you to specify whether to carry
the unselected categories [those not in the Merge These Categories pane (3)] to the
new file in addition to the new category.
