4: Artifact Detection
3. “Output log file” checkbox. When selected, this generates a text file of failure
records listing the channel number, segment number (if applicable), settings to the
parameters in the threshold specification, and offset into the segment (if applicable) in
which the failure occurred.
4. “Overwrite all prior threshold records” checkbox. When selected, this replaces any
previous threshold information stored in the file with the currently generated
threshold information. If unselected, previous threshold information is retained and
added to. This information, which is inaccessible to the user, is used by the “Perform
Inferences” section.
Threshold Panes
Clicking the “add” setting control button inserts an artifact-detection threshold pane
into the threshold specification area. You can specify thresholds for detecting eye
movements, bad channels, and eye blinks.
Eye-Movement Threshold Pane
Note: The controls in the eye-movement pane are also common to the bad-channel and
eye-blink panes. This section describes these controls, and the following sections describe
controls specific to the bad-channel and eye-blink panes, respectively.
The eye-movement pane allows you to set the parameters for detecting eye
movements. Figure 4-4 shows this pane.
