17: Segmentation • Beyond: specifies that Criteria Set 2 must occur at least the specified number of milliseconds before or after Criteria Set 1 (depending on whether you are specifying a Before or After relationship). • At: specifies that Criteria Set 2 must occur exactly the specified number of milliseconds before or after Criteria Set 1 (depending on whether you are specifying a Before or After relationship). • Within: specifies that Criteria Set 2 must occur in a time period less than or equal to the specified number of milliseconds before or after Criteria Set 1 (depending on whether you are specifying a Before or After relationship). The Cross Epoch Boundaries checkbox allows segmentation beyond the current epoch boundaries. Note: Net Station, by default, does not cross epoch boundaries to retrieve event information. An example of when you would select this checkbox is when you want the first trial after an incorrect trial and do not care if there is a block break between them. 3. Event To Select pane. Restricts segmentation to a single event that meets the timing criteria specified in the Distance Between Sets pane (2). Clicking a cell in this matrix selects one of the events that meets the timing criteria specified in the Distance Between Sets pane (sorted by time). For example, if you wanted the second trial after an incorrect trial, you would select “2nd.” Markup Panes (Segmentation Marking) Segmentation markup is useful because it allows you to extract data from the Net Station key lists into a form suitable for export into applications that do not support key lists. You can then perform segmentation in another application. Specifies that segmentation markup will be applied to the source file. If this checkbox is not selected, the new markup track is added and any existing markup track is preserved. 2. Markup Event Code Specification pane. Allows you to specify how the markup events are to be labeled. • Markup Segment With Event Code radio button: allows you to enter any fourcharacter event code. 155
