de bu olacak. Afrika kıta olarak yeterli
elektrik arzına sahip değil. Birçok köyde
hiç elektrik yok. Burada bence soru şu
olmalı: Elektrik talebi düşecek mi yoksa
tasarruf edilen enerji başka kıtalara
aktarılacak mı?
Otomobil sektörü ile enerji sektörü
çok yakın ilişki içerisinde. Siz enerji
anlamında otomobil sektöründe ne
gibi trendler öngörüyorsunuz?
Bence elektrikli otomobiller yine bir
tamamlayıcı unsur olacak. Ne kadar
teknoloji anlamında ilerleme kaydedilmiş
olsa da hala otonomi gibi birçok
sorun var ve sınırlı bir kullanım alanı
söz konusu. Özellikle şehir içi kullanımı
ile sınırlı kalıyor. Bugün elektrikli
otomobiller birinci otomobil olmaktan
çok ailenin 2. ya da 3. otomobili olarak
konumlanıyor. Bugün tatile giden biri
elektrikli otomobille gitmiyor. Öte yandan
şehir içinde kullanılacak postane,
belediye gibi kurumların araçları gibi
birçok otomobil de elektrikli otomobillerle
değiştirilebilir.
“ELEKTRIKLI
OTOMOBILLER BIR
AILENIN 2. YA DA 3.
OTOMOBILI OLARAK
KONUMLANIYOR.”
“ELECTRIC
AUTOMOBILES ARE
MOSTLY THE SECOND
OR THIRD CAR OF A
FAMILY.”
Will consumption continue to decrease
with advancing technology, or
will people consume more energy?
I think we will consume in a different
way. There are two types of countries and
continents. There are opulent countries
and continents like Europe, USA, South
America, and Middle East. They have
relatively easier access to energy resources
via imports or domestic production. These
countries have been working on energy efficiency
for a long time. Obviously energy
resources are not unlimited and population
is increasing throughout the world.
We need to protect these resources. All
these countries make a constant effort to
ensure energy saving. For instance, LED
lamps will be intensely used for lighting
in the future, they are also more and more
frequently preferred in the automotive sector.
LED lamps are 50-60% more efficient
than a conventional bulb. This technological
invention will make a great contribution
to energy saving. All these can be seen
in rich and opulent markets.
There are also countries having difficulties
in electricity supplies. The number of
such countries in Africa is quite high. The
electricity saved in rich countries should
be distributed in those deprived countries.
I think this will be one of the most important
problems in the near future. The
African continent does not have sufficient
electricity supply. Some villages do not
even have electricity infrastructure. They
live in darkness. I think we should ask
this question: Will the electricity demand
decrease or will the saved energy be transferred
to other continents?
The automotive sector has close relations
with the energy sector. Which
trends do you envisage in terms of
energy in the automotive sector?
I think electric automobiles will continue
to be a supplementary item.
Despite all these technological advancements,
there are still serious problems
such as autonomy. The area of use is
still limited. It is particularly limited to
urban use. Today, electric automobiles
are mostly the second or third car of a
family. People do not prefer driving an
electric car when going on a holiday. On
the other hand, many automobiles can
be replaced with electric automobiles
for urban use. For instance, the vehicles
used by post offices and municipalities.
