SURİYE KRİZİ / THE SYRIAN CRISIS
neden yeterince güvenli olmadığı tartışılıyor.
Suriyeliler, Türkiye’deyken sığınma
talep edemiyor çünkü yasal çerçeve
hazır değil ve bu da Türkiye’nin
AB üyeliğine bağlı. Uluslararası insan
haklarına ve AB ülkelerinin imzaladığı
anlaşmalara göre, mülteciler AB ülkelerinden
sığınma talep edebilir ama
başvuru yapmak için fiziksel olarak
AB topraklarında bulunmaları gerekiyor.
Başka bir deyişle, mülteciler sığınma
talebi için Türkiye’deyken başvuru
yapamıyor. Yasal bilinmezlikler ve
açmazlar var oldukça, çocukların ve
kadınların en kötü şekilde etkilendiği
mülteci krizi, insanlığın gözleri önünde
utanç verici bir şekilde sürüyor.
risks and why Turkey is not safe
enough for Syrians. Syrians cannot
seek asylum in Turkey because the
legal framework is not ready and this
is tied up to Turkey’s EU accession
process. According to international
human rights and the agreements EU
countries have signed, refugees can
seek asylum from EU countries but
they have to be physically on EU territory
to apply for it. In other words,
they cannot apply for it in Turkey. As
the legal conundrums and deadlocks
remain in effect, refugees’ tragic stories
that hit women and children the
hardest continue to unfold in front of
the disgraceful eyes of humanity.
