Irgendwie riecht es hier speziell. Kaffee?
Wiederkehrende Koffeinjunkies
kriegen ihre eigene Tasse geschenkt, die im Wandregal
auf sie wartet. Charmant!
There’s a very special aroma in the air. Coffee? Yes for
sure, but no ordinary brew. German-born Philipp Schefer
has set himself the
task of promoting
a culture of speciality
coffee here in Tel
Aviv. Beans from
Ethiopia, Brazil,
Indonesia and other
countries are roasted
to satisfy the individual
taste of customers
– on wood as is
immediately evident
from the flavour!
Regular caffeine
junkies are given
their own cups,
which await them
on the wall rack.
Charming!
Der französische Einfluss bleibt in der ganzen Stadt unverkennbar.
So auch in dieser schmucken Bäckerei, die
nicht nur Schleckmäuler zum Staunen bringt. Legen Sie
eine Kaffeepause ein (friedliche Terrasse!) und geniessen
Sie ein Rugelach – typisches, Croissant-ähnliches israelisches
Gebäck – dazu. Die schmecken hier nämlich
besonders lecker. Geschäftsführerin Andrea Leitersdorf
verrät das Geheimnis: frische Zutaten und 70-Prozent-
Premiumschokolade. Vive le chocolat!
French influence is evident throughout the city – in this
chic bakery, for instance, which is an irresistible magnet
for shoppers with a sweet tooth. Pop in for a coffee break
(agreeable terrace!) and order rugelach – a typically Israeli
pastry along the lines of a croissant. They are truly
scrumptious here. Manager Andrea Leitersdorf lets us in
on her secret: fresh ingredients and 70 per cent premium
chocolate. Vive le chocolat!
warme Gerichte. Perfekt
für Veganer und Glutenempfindliche!
open invitation to while
verschlungen werden),
während sich der Nachwuchs
vergnügt. Leckere Lachssandwiches,
Er gilt als der beste
Hummus der Stadt. Über
Geschmack lässt sich
bekanntlich streiten, Tatsache
ist jedoch, dass
ich – Wochen nach meiner
Rückkehr – noch praktisch
täglich an ihn denke!
Vor allem an das Msabaha
(warme Hummusvariation).
Auch die (vorwiegend
männlichen) Einheimischen,
die sich hier seit 60
Jahren zum täglichen Austausch
treffen, scheinen
zu wissen, wieso. Überzeugen
Sie sich selbst – es hat,
solange es hat!
Renowned for serving
the best hummus in the
whole city. Admittedly, it’s
pos sible to argue about
matters of taste, but the
fact is and remains that –
weeks after my return
home – I still think about it
practically every day! Particularly
about the msabaha
(a warm variation on the
hummus theme)! And the
local residents (primarily
men) who have been meeting
up here for a daily
chat for the past 60 years
also appear to know why.
Try it yourself – but hurry
as it is only served until
it runs out!
A blend between second-hand
bookshop
and alternative café with
a pleasant inner courtyard:
the Little Prince allows
visitors to explore foreign
worlds (the books can also
be read on the spot), while
their offspring amuse
themselves in the kids’ corner.
There are delicious
salmon sandwiches, pasta
and Israeli specialities
on hand to keep the wolf
from the door.
