In der Dachgeschosswohnung
eines prächtigen Altbaus
er öffnete Viktoria Draganova
ihre Non-Profit-Galerie für
internationale zeitgenössische
Kunst. Drei bis vier Aus stellun
gen im Jahr werden an
Sofias jüngstem Ausstellungsort
kuratiert. Allein schon
der Blick von der Poolterrasse
ist den Besuch wert.
For her non-profit gallery for
international contemporary art,
Viktoria Draganova has chosen
the loft apartment of a grand
town house. Three to four exhibitions
a year are curated in
Sofia’s latest exhibition space.
The view from the pool terrace
alone is worth the visit.
Supa Star
Tsar Ivan Shishman Street 8
10.30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Die kleine Suppenküche ist
nicht nur supa-lecker, sondern
auch supa-günstig. Kein
Wunder, dass die Warteschlange
mittags ziemlich
lang ist. Man hat die Wahl
zwischen sechs Suppen, die
je nach Saison variieren.
Dazu gibt es Brot, Zitrone und
Jog hurt. Gute Adresse auch
für Vegetarier.
The food in this little soup
kitchen is not only “supa tasty”
but also “supa well priced”.
Thus, it’s no surprise that at
lunchtime the queue is rather
impressive. Once it is your
turn, you can choose from six
different seasonal soups,
all of which are served with
bread, lemon and yoghurt.
This is a great spot for vegetarians,
too!
Shevitza
Street 26, shevitza.eu
Üblicherweise werden Textilien
im Westen gestaltet und
in einem Billiglohnland
hergestellt. Gergana Stankova
kehrt den Mechanismus um
und lässt ihre Babydecken in
Schweden weben. Alle Schals
der Marke Shevitza sind von
traditionellen Mustern
inspiriert, die durch moderne
Techniken zu neuem Leben
erweckt werden.
Textiles are designed
in Western countries and manufactured
in low-cost countries
– at least that’s the usual
drill. Gergana Stankova,
however, turned it around and
has her baby blankets woven
in Sweden. The design of each
of her Shevitza-labelled scarfs
is inspired by traditional
patterns, which are revived by
new technologies.
