(or).interc<strong>on</strong>nectivity.between.b<strong>on</strong>e.and.immune.biology..The.interplay.begins.when.b<strong>on</strong>e.provides.the.microenvir<strong>on</strong>ment.that.is.critical.for.the.development.<strong>of</strong>.the.hematopoietic.stem.cells.from.which.<br />

all.cells.<strong>of</strong>.the.mammalian.immune.system.derive,.and.they.in.turn.<br />

produce.various.immunoregulatory.cytokines.that.influence.the.fate.<br />

dysfuncti<strong>on</strong>s.(TMD/TMJD)..Temporomandibular.disorders.are.c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>s.that.affect.masticatory.muscles,.the.mandibular.joints,.and.other.<br />

associated.structures..Various.inflammatory.mediators.and.cytokines.<br />

influence.the.pathogenic.mechanisms.involving.interacti<strong>on</strong>s.between.<br />

immune.cells.and.b<strong>on</strong>e..Temporomandibular.disorders.whether.they.<br />

are.internal.derangements.or.a.mal-relati<strong>on</strong>ship.<strong>of</strong>.the.mandible.to.the.<br />

cranial.base.have.a.systemic/neurologic.comp<strong>on</strong>ent..The.compressi<strong>on</strong>.<br />

or. irritati<strong>on</strong>. <strong>of</strong>. the.Auriculotemporal. nerve. at. a. sub-threshold. level.<br />
