Auction Rules<br />
1. The silent auction will open at 6:00 pm and lots will begin closing 30 minutes<br />
after Live Auction concludes. A registration desk will be staffed at the check<br />
in beginning at 6:00 pm.<br />
2. Only registered bidders <strong>with</strong> assigned bidder numbers may participate in<br />
the silent auction.<br />
3. Use your personal cell phone or contact an AHA auction volunteer to bid<br />
4. An American Heart Association official may nullify a bid for any of the<br />
following reasons:<br />
A. Lack of minimum bid or lack of minimum bid increment.<br />
B. Preventing another bidder from placing a bid immediately prior<br />
to closing.<br />
C. A late bid or addition to a bid after the close of the silent auction in<br />
that section.<br />
5. The last bid placed via mobile bidding will be the winning bidder. You will be<br />
notified via text message when you have won an auction lot. last bid on the<br />
bid sheet will be the winning bid, provided that it is valid.<br />
6. In the event of a dispute, an official of the American Heart Association shall<br />
act as the final authority and shall determine the winning bid. The decision<br />
of the official is final.<br />
7. All gift certificates and air transportation will expire one year from the<br />
event (Saturday, April 22, <strong>2017</strong>) unless otherwise noted in the catalog or on<br />
the physical item. Air transportation may not be redeemed for cash or<br />
other consideration.<br />
Information for the Buyer<br />
NO RETURNS WILL BE ACCEPTED.<br />
1. Conditions of Wine: Wines are described in this catalog as correctly as<br />
can be ascertained at press deadline. However, appropriate allowances for<br />
natural variations of ullages, conditions of cork and wine must be made.<br />
2. Arrangements by Lots: Wines are grouped together and preceded by a lot<br />
number, followed by a description of the wine and quantity offered <strong>with</strong>in<br />
the lot.<br />
3. Commission to Bid: Buyers who are unable to attend the auction are<br />
encouraged to place commissions to bid using the form provided upon<br />
request. Commissions to bid are treated <strong>with</strong> strict confidence, and lots are<br />
purchased for the lowest possible price, subject to other absentee bids and<br />
competitive bidding from those in attendance. Please submit bids to the<br />
American Heart Association Dallas Division office no later than 5:00 pm on<br />
Wednesday, April 19, <strong>2017</strong>. Facsimiles are encouraged. All bids must be<br />
accompanied by credit card information and signature.<br />
4. Payment: Payment must be made on the evening of the auction. Credit<br />
cards and checks will be accepted. The American Heart Association may<br />
be required by law to collect the appropriate state and local taxes from<br />
the buyers. The American Heart Association’s determination, in its sole<br />
discretion, shall be conclusive as to any issues of taxations.<br />
A. Licensed dealers of alcoholic beverages, in order to facilitate the<br />
determination of taxes <strong>du</strong>e, shall submit their sales tax numbers to<br />
the American Heart Association prior to the auction.<br />
B. Out-of-state deliveries may be accomplished under the following<br />
conditions: Delivery must be an ICC (Interstate Commerce<br />
Commission) licensed carrier.<br />
C. If shipment is made by an ICC carrier to Illinois or New York, the sales<br />
tax of that state must be paid by the successful bidder.<br />
