Mo<strong>du</strong>s Operandi Cellars was founded in 2004, <strong>with</strong> just eight barrels<br />
of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Mo<strong>du</strong>s specializes in high impact<br />
and world class wines and is the experimental brand of Winemaker<br />
Jason Moore. The wines have been part of a historical State Dinner at<br />
the White House, paired to celebrity Chef Tom Coliccio’s food at the<br />
Aspen Food and Wine Classic, and have been written into New York<br />
Times best-selling authors novel The Black Box by Michael Connelly.<br />
This, in addition to critic scores in the 90’s and the support of the<br />
winery’s fans and customers, have created a dream come true for<br />
Winemaker and Owner, Jason Moore.<br />
Jason Moore – Owner, Winemaker<br />
Jason Moore is a born and raised Dallas native who grew up in the<br />
fine dining restaurant scene of Dallas, which is where he found his<br />
interest and ultimate passion for wine. Jason moved to Napa in 2002,<br />
to pursue the dream and lofty aspiration of becoming a winemaker.<br />
Three months after moving to Davis, CA to study winemaking at<br />
UC Davis, Jason decided against the classic route of e<strong>du</strong>cation in<br />
exchange for a more self-taught and hands on approach. Now,<br />
10 years into his professional career, Jason has become known for<br />
extremely high end and somewhat experimental techniques and<br />
winemaking, which lead to impressive and beautiful wines <strong>with</strong> true<br />
