Founded in 1983 by grape growing pioneer Jerry Bookwalter, J.<br />
Bookwalter Winery has a long, rich history of pro<strong>du</strong>cing exceptional<br />
wines from some of Washington state’s finest vineyards.<br />
The winery is now owned and operated by second-generation<br />
winemaker John Bookwalter. J. Bookwalter is one of Pacific<br />
Northwest’s most recognized wine brands, relying on exceptional<br />
vineyard sources and meticulous winemaking to pro<strong>du</strong>ce some of the<br />
world’s finest wines.<br />

John Bookwalter is the President and Winemaker for J. Bookwalter<br />
Winery and is responsible for all winemaking activities, vineyard<br />
management, sales and marketing initiatives, and strategic planning<br />
for the company. Bookwalter joined the family winery in 1997,<br />
after receiving his Bachelor of Science in marketing from Arizona<br />
State University and a 10-year career in sales, sales management<br />
and marketing for such companies as Gallo Wine Company, The<br />
WinterBrook Beverage Group and Coors Brewing Company.<br />
Since joining the family winery, Bookwalter has held key positions<br />
<strong>with</strong>in the wine in<strong>du</strong>stry and local community. He is currently the<br />
chair of the Washington Wine Commission and chairs the Tri-Cities<br />
Visitor and Convention Bureau. Bookwalter also has served as the Vice<br />
President of the Washington Wine Institute and as an executive board<br />
member of Wine America, a Washington, D.C.- based advocacy group.<br />
