Merry Edwards Winery
In 1997, Merry Edwards established her eponymous brand with a
focus on producing Pinot Noir from the finest vineyards in Sonoma
County’s Russian River Valley. In 2008, she and her husband, Ken
Coopersmith, completed their winery on the site of Coopersmith
Vineyard.
Ken was her helpmate in the installation of her first vineyard,
Meredith Estate, in 1998. This was followed by Coopersmith in
2001, and Georganne in 2006. Long-term leases were negotiated
for Warren’s Hill, Flax Vineyard and Cresta d’Oro, an extension of
Meredith. Although most of those earlier plantings were Pinot Noir, in
2014 new Sauvignon Blanc developments were under way. At Merry
and Ken’s new home property in Sebastopol, a Chardonnay and Pinot
Noir vineyard is being planted at their Full Circle Ranch.
Along with two regional blends, six vineyard-designated Pinot Noirs
are bottled. In 2001, a barrel-fermented Sauvignon Blanc was added
to the portfolio. Merry also is now making a vineyard-designate
Chardonnay from the venerable Olivet Lane vineyard.
