Detail the Advantages<br />

Now that you’ve listed the key tasks that need to be completed,<br />

you should go back and give four to five advantages<br />

of the strategy. You don’t need more than four or<br />

five, but they need to be strong. Normally you give the advantages<br />

in a bullet point list, one after the other. You want to reinforce<br />

those advantages now fairly close in the presentation to<br />

where you will ask for action.<br />

The advantages you list should vary by the person you are<br />

presenting to. Higher management responds differently than<br />

an analytical person. Each phrase in the chapter explains what<br />

type of advantages that listener wants to hear, and then<br />

offers a perfect phrase you can use as a preamble prior to listing<br />

the advantages. After you state your phrase, then state<br />

“these are the strategy’s main advantages” and then list them.<br />

Always be prepared to answer the question of what the disadvantages<br />

are, but don’t include them in your presentation<br />

unless asked.<br />
