Avapro (Irbesartan) ir-be-SAR-tan Classification: ARB IFU: Hypertension Action: Produces antihypertensive effect by competitive antagonist activity at the angiotensin II receptor. Avelox (Moxifloxacin ) moxi-FLOX-a-sin Classification: Quinolone Antibiotic IFU: Bacterial Infection Action: Interferes with action of enzymes necessary for bacterial replication. Inhibits topoisomerases I (DNA gyrase) and IV, thereby impairing processes of bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. Dosage: 400 mg Route: P.O. Adverse Reaction: dizziness, taste perversion, abnormal liver function test results Interactions: Antacids didanosine, metal cations (such as aluminum, iron, magnesium, zinc), multivitamins, sucralfate: Metal cations chelate with moxifloxacin, resulting in decreased absorption and lower serum levels.
