glucocorticosteroid with<br />

potent anti-inflammatory<br />

activity. Inflammation is an<br />

important component in the<br />

pathogenesis of asthma.<br />

Glucocorticosteroids inhibit<br />

many cell types and mediator<br />

production or secretion<br />

involved in the asthmatic<br />

response. These<br />

anti-inflammatory actions of<br />

fluticasone may contribute to<br />

its efficacy in asthma.<br />

Dosage: 44 mcg, 50 mcg, 100 mcg,<br />

110 mcg, 220 mcg, 250 mcg, 500 mcg<br />

Adverse Reaction: headache,<br />

pharyngitis, oral candidiasis,<br />

upper respiratory tract<br />

Interactions: Ketoconazole:<br />

Increased mean fluticasone<br />

levels. Use care when giving<br />

fluticasone with long-term<br />

ketoconazole and other known<br />

cytochrome P-450 3A4 inhibitors<br />
