Action: Retains water in the
stool, resulting in softer stools
and more frequent bowel
movements.
Dosage: 17 g (dissolved in 4 to 8
ounces of beverage)

Adverse Reaction: cramps, gas,
more frequent bowel movements,
nausea, stomach pain, or
bloating
Interactions: Albuterol: Can
cause an irregular heart rhythm
that may be serious and
potentially life-threatening.
