west. T. M. Steward of Packwaukee, who had<br />

begun to keep the Sabbath, piloted us with his<br />

horse and carriage to the place of Waggoner's<br />

labors. When we arrived, we found him suffer<strong>in</strong>g<br />

with granulated eyelids, and so we filled his<br />

appo<strong>in</strong>tments for him. Then we went still farther<br />

north to Metomen to meet J.M. Stephenson and D.<br />

P. Hall, two active First-day Adventist m<strong>in</strong>isters<br />

who had just taken their stand for the Sabbath. We<br />

held a week's meet<strong>in</strong>gs so that they might be more<br />

fully <strong>in</strong>structed <strong>in</strong> the truth.<br />

From this po<strong>in</strong>t we began our journey south<br />

with Waggoner, Stephenson, and Hall<br />

accompany<strong>in</strong>g us as far as Koshkonong. About<br />

halfway there lived a devoted brother and his wife<br />

who were anxious that their town have opportunity<br />

to hear "The United States <strong>in</strong> Prophecy." The men<br />

accompany<strong>in</strong>g us had no faith we would have a<br />

congregation and voted that I should speak. To our<br />

surprise the schoolhouse was packed. As we<br />

journeyed on the next day, these brethren<br />

compla<strong>in</strong>ed that I had taken all the time and not<br />
