MegaSıva Saten Cement Based, Manually Applied Satin Plaster PRODUCT DESCRIPTION White cement based, manually applied satin plaster with polymer and chemical additives for enhanced workability, used for the preparation of the surface for paint application after finishing coat of plaster. AREAS OF USE MegaSıva Saten is applied on ceilings and plaster coated surfaces in indoors and outdoors spaces in order to smoothen the surfaces before paint application. PRODUCT ADVANTAGES • Provides an aesthetically pleasing appearance. • Prepares the surface for paint application. • Ensuring high bonding to the surface, the product does not cause spalling and poses high bonding strength. • Being a high performance product, it does not cause contractions. • Prepared and applied easily. CE APPLICATION PROCEDURE Application Surfaces Indoors and Outdoors Walls; - Cement based plaster coated surfaces Ceilings; - Cement based plaster coated surfaces Surface Preparation • Cement based plaster should be applied to the surface prior to the application of MegaSıva Saten. • The application surface should be dry, clean, sound and dust free, and should have been cleansed of oil, dirt or any materials that may prevent adhesion, and any such materials as mortar and cement residues should be scraped from the application surface. • The application surfaces should be moisturized with water, where necessary. • Upon the completion of the surface cleaning, MegaFilm primer should be applied in a single coat with a brush and be left to dry for 1 to 2 hours in order to enhance the bonding strength and stabilize the surface absorption. Application Methods • The product should be applied with a steel trowel in equal thickness on all surfaces. • Once plaster dewaters and is sufficiently hardened following the application, the surface should be processed with a trowel and final finishing touches should be made with a moist sponge. • In the cases where a smooth surface cannot be applied despite through drying of the product, the related spots of the surface should be sandpapered as appropriate. • The application thickness should ranger between 1 mm and 3 mm. Application Recommendations • The surface should be moisturized for 2 to 3 days following the application. • The surface should be sandpapered following the through dry. • The product should not be applied to such surfaces, to which paint, premixed colorful plaster, base coat plaster or exterior coating, and to gypsum surfaces. • The product should, once mixed, be used before the expiration of its pot life. Any product, the pot life of which has expired, should not be used during the application. • Any such foreign substance as lime, cement or plaster should not be added to the mortar prepared. • Any extra water should not be added to the mixture. • The product should not be applied on unsound surfaces. The soundness and the load bearing capacity of old surfaces should be checked prior to adhesion. • The surface should be preserved from air currents and water contact during and after the application. • The product should not be applied to such surfaces, which are exposed to risk of freezing within the next 24 hours, which are frozen or the frost of which is thawing. • Due care should be taken to ensure that the material is not exposed to direct sunlight in hot weather conditions, and the product should be mixed with cold water. • The product should not be applied on extremely windy weather conditions or on hot surfaces, which are exposed to direct sunlight; and in the cases, where application is imperative under such conditions, the environment and the surface should be prepared for application in advance. • The product should not be applied in rainy weather conditions, and the application surface should be preserved from rain for a period of 24 hours. • Refer to our technical support hotline for recommendation on different surface applications. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS Mixing Ratio The product should be mixed with water, weighing equal to 38 - 40 % of the product. (7.5 - 8.0 liters of water for a 20 kg package) Mixing Equipment • Low speed electrical mixer (400 cycles/min.) • Special tip stirring equipment Mixing Period The product should be stirred with a low speed mixer until any dry dust and globs are eliminated. The mortar should, then, be stirred once again for 1 to 2 minutes after being had settled for 3 to 4 minutes following preparation.
