MegaTamir Epo
Epoxy Based Adhesive And Repair Mortar
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A double component, solvent free filling, repair, grading and adhesive mortar with epoxy
bonding and reduced slippage, which is resistant to water and chemical environments.
AREAS OF USE
MegaTamir Epo is used for the filling and grading of holes and gaps on concrete and metal
surfaces, as anchor mortar for inserting iron ores, for the repair of cracks and fractures, for
the protection of bonding of concrete to metal and metal to metal by filling the remaining
gaps against corrosion, and as adhesive for the adhesion of numerous construction materials.
It is suitable for use on horizontal and vertical surfaces of indoors and outdoors spaces.
PRODUCT ADVANTAGES
• Highly resistant to chemical effects.
• Gains high strength shortly after the application.
• Highly resistant to dynamic loads.
• Highly resistant to wear and tear and poses high mechanical resistance.
• Ensure excellent adherence for numerous dry and clean surface types.
• Easy to mix and apply thanks to the special fillings in its content.
• Solvent-free and environmentally friendly.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Application Surfaces
Indoors and Outdoors Walls;
- Cement based plaster
- Fresh - old concrete
- Iron - steel
Indoors and Outdoors Floors;
- Cement based trowel coating
- Fresh - old concrete
- Iron - steel
Surface Preparation
Iron - Steel Surfaces
• Iron and steel surfaces should strictly be sanded prior to application.
• MegaTamir Epo should be applied to the surface within 4 hours following the sanding. In
the cases, where the product is not applied within 4 hours following the sanding; the surface
should be sanded once again immediately prior to the application.
Fresh Concrete
• The application surfaces should have completed the 28 day curing period.
• Such materials as mortar residues on the cured surface should be removed by mild sanding
or brushing, whereupon the surface should be thoroughly cleaned from dust.
Old Concrete
• The application surfaces should be dry, clean, sound and dust free, and should have been
cleansed of oil, dirt or any materials that may prevent adhesion, and any such materials as
mortar and cement residues should be scraped from the application surface.
• Due care must be taken to ensure that the surface is completely dry prior to the application.
The humidity ratio of the concrete should be 5 % at maximum.
Application Methods
• MegaTamir Epo should be applied in equal thickness on all surfaces to be repaired.
• The surface should be finished with a smoothing trowel following the application.
• The mixture to be prepared should be consumed within 60 minutes. Any mixture, the pot
life of which has expired or which has hardened, should be disposed.
Application Recommendations
• MegaTamir Epo may pose increased consistency when stored in cold weather conditions.
In such cases, the normal consistency of the product should be restored by being moved to a
warm environment or bathed in hot water (having the materials kept in a container filled with
hot water prior to mixing).
• The product should, once mixed, be used before the expiration of its pot life. Any product,
the pot life of which has expired, should not be used during the application. Epoxy based
products have limited pot lives; therefore, due consideration should be given to the fact that
the pot life and dry times would shorten at high temperatures and lengthen at low temperatures.
• Any such foreign substance as lime, cement or plaster should not be added to the product,
which prepared with compounds.
• The product should not be applied on unsound surfaces. The soundness and the load
bearing capacity of old surfaces should be checked prior to adhesion.
• The surface should be preserved from air currents and water contact during and after the
application.
• The product should not be applied to such surfaces, which are exposed to risk of freezing
within the next 24 hours, which are frozen or the frost of which is thawing.
• Due care should be taken to ensure that the material is not exposed to direct sunlight in hot
weather conditions.
• The product should not be applied on extremely windy weather conditions or on hot surfaces,
which are exposed to direct sunlight; and in the cases, where application is imperative under
such conditions, the environment and the surface should be prepared for application in
advance.
• The product should not be applied in rainy weather conditions, and the application surface
should be preserved from rain for a period of 24 hours.
• Refer to our technical support hotline for recommendation on different surface applications.
Surface and Ambient Temperature
The surface and ambient temperature should be between +5°C and +35°C whilst at
application.
Application Limits
Useful time for prepared product - Pot life
Surface dryness
Through dry time
Through curing
temperature and 50% ± 5 relative humidity conditions. The values provided as per the table
may vary depending on the surface and ambient conditions.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Mixing Ratio
Component A (4.5 kg) and component B (1.5 kg) should be thoroughly mixed.
Mixing Equipment
• Low speed electrical mixer (400 cycles/min.)
• Special tip stirring equipment
Mixing Period
The product should be stirred with a low-speed mixer until any dry dust and globs are
eliminated. The mortar should, then, be stirred once again for 1 to 2 minutes after being had
settled for 3 to 4 minutes following preparation.
Application Equipment
• Steel trowel
• Scraper
• Mortar / Mastic gun
Equipment Cleaning
The equipment used should be cleaned with such solvents as thinner, acetone or toluene
immediately after the application.
The non-cured epoxy on the application surface should be cleaned with a moist sponge or a
moist sponge mildly saturated with detergent.
The dried epoxy can be cleaned mechanically. In order for easy mechanical cleaning; the
contaminated tools may be kept within such solvents as thinner, acetone or toluene for 1 to
2 hours, which would soften the epoxy.
