3. (a) Remove the two large decals and two upper hex screws from the<br />

camera cover,<br />

(b) remove the two small decals and the two lower cover screws,<br />

(c) detach the opposite end (where it hooks to the II), then<br />

(d) remove the camera cover.<br />

4. Note the two parts of the HV cable (900989) connected to the outside<br />

of the camera cover weldment, or “camera hat,” on the camera hat<br />

connector mount (refer also to the interconnect diagram, 878377).<br />

(a) Disconnect the J2 end of the HV cable from the connector mount,<br />

then<br />

(b) disconnect the P1 end of the HV cable from the connector mount.<br />

(See Figure 4. p. 11.)<br />

5. Disconnect the J7 end of the HV cable from the power supply (see<br />

Figure 5).<br />

6. Disconnect the green/yellow chassis ground wire from the power<br />

supply (see Figure 5).<br />

7. Hold the II in place, then<br />

(a) remove the two upper flat-head socket screws, then<br />

(b) remove the two large decals and the two lower flat-head socket<br />

screws that secure the II to the C mounting.<br />

8. Lift off the II.<br />

NOTE<br />

When replacing the Image Intensifier, it may be necessary to<br />

re-calibrate the light level at the CCD by calibrating the Camera<br />

Iris. Refer to the Camera Iris Calibration procedure in the<br />

Image System Calibration section, <strong>9600</strong> System Service<br />

Manual.
