The field of <strong>sport</strong> market<strong>in</strong>g is <strong>in</strong>fused <strong>in</strong> virtually all aspects of <strong>sport</strong> management.<br />

As such, it is <strong>in</strong>evitable that many students will be <strong>in</strong>volved <strong>in</strong> some<br />

aspect of <strong>sport</strong> market<strong>in</strong>g dur<strong>in</strong>g their career. This book is be<strong>in</strong>g published with<br />

the <strong>sport</strong> management educator <strong>and</strong> student <strong>in</strong> m<strong>in</strong>d, specifically aimed at those<br />

whose <strong>sport</strong> management program is housed <strong>in</strong> the bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>and</strong>/or management<br />

department. Most <strong>sport</strong> market<strong>in</strong>g books restate concepts learned <strong>in</strong> an<br />

<strong>in</strong>troductory market<strong>in</strong>g course prior to gett<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>to <strong>sport</strong> market<strong>in</strong>g. This is<br />

appropriate for <strong>sport</strong> management programs housed <strong>in</strong> a department other<br />

than bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>and</strong>/or management. However, for <strong>sport</strong> management programs<br />

housed <strong>in</strong> a bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>and</strong>/or management division, where virtually all students<br />

have already taken pr<strong>in</strong>ciples of market<strong>in</strong>g course, the book is simply repetitive.<br />
