J R MacGregor Ltd located at Dyke
Farm, Glasgow sold Dyke Runrig
who sold for 7,200gns. He has
double F94L myostatin and has
an impressive Beef Value of LM45
placing him the in top 10% of the
breed. Runrig was purchased by N A
McCulloch, Kenmuir, Wigtownshire.
Reserve overall champion for the
day and selling for 6,500gns was
Corsairtly Rocknroll, purchased by
the Scottish Government Bull Stud.
Rocknroll, born September 2020, has
F94L/Q204X myostatin and a Beef
Value of LM40. He is sired by Millburn
Luquacious and out Barrons Julip.
Winning first in his class and selling
for 6,200gns was Newhouse Ringo,
presented by Messrs R M Adam and
Son and was taken home by W S L
Muir of Corrigall pedigree Limousins.
Messrs R M Adam and Son went on
to sell a further three bulls achieving
an average of £4,331 for the day.

first in his class, was taken home

Female magic at
3,800gns
At 3,800gns, top price female
for the day was Lomond
Magic, bred by Andrew Orr,
Kinross. Magic is sired by Windsole
Godfrey and out of Lodge Femme,
who goes back to Attila. This May
2016-born cow was sold with her
bull calf at foot Lomond Samuel, who
was born in December 2021, and is
sired by Swarland Igolo. Magic cast a
spell over Robert Warnock who took
the outfit home to High Bent Farm,
Lanarkshire.
Mr J Burnett and Sons, Upper
Spittalton Farm, Stirling, presented
a draft of seven heifers for sale
averaging £2,445. Achieving 2,700gns
was Spittalton Roslin, a September
2020-born heifer displaying double
F94L myostatin and a Beef Value of
LM36. Roslin was purchased by K
MacKay, Upper Ardnagrask, Rossshire.
Rathillet Farms Limited purchased
three heifers bred by the Spillalton
herd. Spittalton Rattle for 2,400gns,
and Spittalton Rosina and Spittalton
Renella for 2,000gns each.
R Currie, Low Dunashery, Argyll,
snapped up 2,400gns Spittalton
Reen bred by the Spittalton herd, a
September 2020-born heifer. Reen
has double F94L myostatin and is
sired by Ampertaine Majestic. She is
out of the homebred cow Spittalton
Loreen, who goes back to Dinmore
Hitman.
Also achieving the same price of
2,400gns was Spittalton Rash and
Spittalton Raindrop. Both heifers
caught the eye of H M Morrison, of
the Westwind pedigree Limousin
herd, based in Killeonan, Argyll.
