OBITUARIESRemembering DavidThomlinsonAt the 50 th Anniversary sale at Borderway Mart on Friday29 th July, the life and death of David Tomlinson wasrecognised with the renaming of the auction housesthird ring as The David Thomlinson Ring.Prior to the start of the sale, the late David Tomlinson wasremembered for his outstanding contribution to livestockauctioneering. Following an opening tribute by H&HGroup Director Dawn Harrison, a plaque was unveiledre-naming the main sale ring as ‘Ring 3 The DavidThomlinson Ring’.Michael Scott, Chairman of the H&H Group said “Wedecided to make this official during the Limousin Club’s50 th anniversary celebrations, as David was a notablepedigree Limousin breeder and had been involved withthe society since its inception, being a former Chairmanof the North West Limousin Cattle Breeders Association.”Craig Ridley of the British Limousin Cattle Societyconcluded: “David was an integral part of our Societyand is greatly missed by everyone. He was an inspirationto many and was always happy to help and support inany way he could. It was a great honour to be involved incelebrating his life in this way and it was a very fitting wayto open our 50 th anniversary celebrations at Borderway”Recognising the lifeof Hannah BrownThe BLCS trophy in memory of Hannah Brownwas awarded to the Champion Junior Heiferat the 50 th Anniversary a new Society trophywas awarded to the Junior Female Championin memory of Hannah Brown. The BLCStrophy was presented to the Maraiscote herdby Dorne Richardson from the Mystyle herd,where Hannah farmed with fiancée BenRichardson.
