represented the club in the commercial sections of the
day. Well done to all who took part.
Brecon show and the South Wales and Mid West Club
show was held on the 6 th of August with the Calogale
herd of G J and C M Lloyd winning the Breed Champion
with Calogale Skye. James Jackson of the Taygreen herd
and also Adrian Jones of the Mojo Herd were also in
attendance.
August also saw the club open day, held at the home of
the Calogale herd of Gareth Lee and Catrin Lloyd, who
put on a splendid day with a showing of excellent cattle.
The day was well attended with breeders from all over
the country. The club thanks Gareth and Catrin for an
excellent day.
As the year starts to draw to a close on the 15 th October
vendors at the Carlisle bull sale from Dylans, Dinmore,
Calogale, Beulah and Dyfri herds represented the club
well.
The club annual prize giving evening was held on the
11 th of November before the bull sale. A well attended
and enjoyable evening was had by all. The overall winner
on the night was Dyfan and Carol James of the Cowin
Herd, who had also been selected to go on to be judged
for the Overall National Herd Competition as part of the
50 th Anniversary Celebrations. The prize for Best Stock
Bull and Progeny going to the Tynewydd Herd of Gareth
Jenkins for the second year in a row.
Brecon sale was held on the 12 th of November with
several club members in attendance. Reserve Junior Male
Champion went to Dyfan and Carol James with their bull
Cowin Storm. Cowin as well as the Beulah herd of Mervin
and Jackie Price and the Glangweden herd of Chris and
Fiona Jarman had a great selection of heifers for sale on
the day. Top price went to the James family with their
heifer Cowin Seleri who sold for 2600gns.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish the club
and all members a prosperous 2023 and hopefully a
successful show season.
