Victor Woods

Farm Manager, Greenmount

instrumental role in selecting

the first cattle to come to

the UK in 1970. Mike was

elected on the first Council

of Management along with

seven others in 1971, serving

a credible 10 year term.

Mike became famous for his

journalism and commentary

at the major shows and

of course, the author of

‘Limousin, the breed, the

people, the story’.

Nominated by:

Craig Ridley, Honorary

President 2020-2022

“One of the great enthusiasts

for the breed, Victor attended

Greenmount Agricultural

College in 1964-65 and stayed

on to work at the college,

where he became Farm

Manager. In 1997, with the

support of Jim Quail and

BLCS he instigated the LIMO

project. This became a huge

shop window for Limousin in

Northern Ireland and many

students became pedigree

breeders because of his

inspirational influence’.

Jim Scott, Honorary President

2018-2020

Jim Bloom

Scorboro Herd

Chairman 2008-2011

“Jim has been a huge

supporter and ambassador

of the British Limousin

Society both here in the UK

and on the world stage and

contributed significantly as

Chairman from 2008-11. Jim

played an instrumental role

in the purchase of Concorde

House”.

Yvonne King Forster

Jim Quail

Michael Priestley, Honorary

President 2012-2014

“Fluent in French and with an

expert eye, Yvonne was one

of the first importers from the

1970’s calf crop (the Fs) and

one of the few who persisted

with the breed in the early

years. Yvonne’s determination

and tenacity were later

rewarded during 1978-88

when they won 10 interbreed

Championships and 60 breed

championships at the Royal

Show, Royal Highland and

Royal Welsh.”

Nominated by:

BLCS Council 2022

“Jim established the Lynderg

which went on to significantly

influence the next generation”.
