to improve its
management of
scheduled waste
through existing
PGB Scheduled Waste
Request System.

and contractors alike, PGB received the
National Occupational Safety and Health
Excellence Award from the
Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Prompt closures of action items highlighted
in the Environmental Risk Reporting
contributes towards excellence in
plant operations.
Prompt closures for action items raised in
the exercises conducted on each project
were also seen via walkabouts as well as
progress meetings. This indicates effective and
suffi cient internal controls were put in place
to mitigate the environmental risks further.
PGB continues to improve its management
of scheduled waste through existing PGB
Scheduled Waste Request System (e-POWERS)
via information technology by reviewing and
further enhancing the system.
The Company also continued its commitment
towards excellence in operations with the
compliance to the latest revised Environment
Quality Act such as EQ (Industrial Effl uent
Treatment System) Regulations, 2009 and EQ
(Sewage) Regulations, 2009 by identifying
and endorsing relevant competent persons
at each affected divisions as well as on-time
submission of scheduled reporting to the
Department of Environment in order to meet
the new revised law’s requirements.

In spite of that, improvement on the internal
reporting of environmental performance
remained as central focus. PGB continued
this effort under the year of review by
supporting PETRONAS Group Health, Safety
and Environment’s (GHSE) new environmental
performance reporting format. New additional
parameters included resource use, waste
management and emission data reporting.
The Company worked hard to ensure the
reporting is complied with by integrating all
divisional performance on the new monthly
reporting format. By doing so, we continue to
ensure PGB is not lagging in our commitment
to sustainability, as pledged by Malaysia,
which is a signatory of CoP15 Copenhagen
2009, in our effort to reduce climate change
via establishment of greenhouse gas (GHG)
baseline reporting.
