Q&A with the Chairman
With signifi cant expertise in gas infrastructure
projects and operations, the Company was
entrusted by PETRONAS to develop a Liquefi ed
Natural Gas (LNG) regasifi cation terminal in
Melaka.
In addition to new projects and developments,
the Company is also ensuring that integrity
and reliability of existing key infrastructures
are maintained. The Company has embarked
on the Plant Rejuvenation and Revamp (PRR) 2
project to ensure the life of its gas processing
plants is extended for another 20 years.
Q: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
has always been eminent in PGB’s
credentials. What does CSR means to
PGB and how was this refl ected in the
year under review?
PGB will continue to focus on its corporate

initiatives are education-driven and the
Program Bakti Pendidikan PETRONAS (PBPP),
which focuses on developing the potential
of marginally performing school students to
excel in their studies, is a major programme
that PGB supports wholeheartedly. The
proudest achievement of PBPP for the year
under review was the commendable results
of the Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR)
2010 wherein 92% out of the 94 PBPP
students passed the examination. In addition,
19 students obtained 5As while another 28
scored 4As.
Another effort worthy of mention was a series
of “Bakti Dihulur, Kasih Disemai” programmes
conducted by Company personnel for the
less fortunate as well as for protection of the
environment.

Q: What were the efforts undertaken
in ensuring the Company continues
to operate in a healthy, safe and
environmentally-friendly manner?
Many activities and programmes were carried
out to instil good HSE practices in the hearts
and minds of each and every staff. In addition
to process safety management programs,
health talks and seminars were conducted.
In the year under review, the Company also
launched the Environmental 4G initiative, a
comprehensive environmental sustainability
programme which symbolises Green Care,
Green Mind, Green Ownership and Green
Growth.
