Apart from these, the students were also
taken for yearly educational fi eld trips to
PETRONAS’ experiential learning facilities such
as PETROSAINS where they get to experience
science and knowledge within the oil and gas
realm in a fun and interactive manner, Dewan
Filharmonik PETRONAS where the students are
given the opportunity to appreciate classical
music and Galeri PETRONAS where they get
to amplify their appreciation for fi ne arts. The
students were also taken to the PETRONAS
Twin Towers and KLCC Park as part of their
educational fi eld trip.
Students who will be sitting for the Standard
Six Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR)
examination also participated in the
motivational camp designed by our staff
volunteers. As recognition for the students’
overall achievements, an annual prize giving
ceremony was organized by the Company to
acknowledge the students’ efforts in achieving
outstanding results and demonstrating
improvements at school.
The year under review saw the graduation
of the second batch of PBPP students. From
the 94 students involved in the PBPP that sat
for the UPSR examination, 92% passed the
examination of which 19 students obtained
5As whilst 57 students scored a combination of
4As and 3As. This is a signifi cant improvement
in comparison with 2009 result, with higher
number of students obtaining 5As compared
to previous years. The remarkable achievement
of the students under PBPP is a success that
the Company is proud to be part of.
The Company’s efforts in supporting the
PBPP was once again given due recognition
at national level where PGB was short-listed
for the Star Biz-ICR Malaysia Corporate Social
Responsibility Award under the Community
Category.
