With Recognition
During the year under review, a HSE Tier 3
Assurance Exercise, conducted every three
years was conducted by PGB. Overall, HSE
risk control measures are generally in place
across PGB’s business activities. However
the Company is taking steps to improve on
operational and control gaps identifi ed.
PGB once again with a good HSE track record
and collective commitment from staff and
contractors alike, have won 8 Malaysian
Society for Occupational Safety and Health
(MSOSH) awards. This year, it was a special
achievement for PGB after successfully

Also in the year under review, the Company
won an award in the “National OSH Excellence
Award” for Gas Utilities Category which was
presented to the MD/CEO, En. Samsudin bin
Miskon by YAB Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Muhyiddin
bin Haji Mohd Yassin, the Deputy Prime
Minister of Malaysia on 21 December 2010 at
the Putrajaya International Convention Centre.
PGB received the award in recognition of the
excellent practice at the Kuantan Regional
Operations under the Company’s Transmission
Operation Division.

Going Beyond Physical Health
In sustaining the PGB Healthy Lifestyle
Programme, Healthy Choices Practices was
introduced Company-wide, stressing on
importance of physical exercise and healthy
diet in our lifestyles. Supporting the Practices
are programmes conducted at PGB locations,
including measurement of health parameters
(blood pressure and body mass index), Diet
Management Programme, Biggest Loser
Challenge, Weekly Physical Exercise and
Special Health Intervention For Stroke and
Heart Problems. Specifi cally for ladies were the
Cervical Cancer Vaccination and Awareness
Campaign.
The Company-developed Al-Falah Programme
which aims to enhance employees’ holistic
health comprising of physical, fi nancial,
emotional and psychological health, has
seen 297 employees attended a total of
13 sessions throughout the year. In addition to
this programme, a special monthly counseling
programme was introduced for employees
in the effort to provide an avenue for
one-to-one counseling with appointed internal
counselors.
