Acrylics, Watercolour & Drawing for Children<br />

Location: Kinsmen Media Centre<br />

Whether you are a beginner or continuing student you will love learning<br />

the basics <strong>of</strong> painting with watercolour and acrylics. in addition you<br />

will learn techniques that will make drawing what you see easier than<br />

ever before. this new art class will give you the tools needed to excel in<br />

the arts. Through the program you will complete 7 new paintings. Cost<br />

Acrylic Painting<br />

Learn to use the materials in a painterly way with concentration on<br />

developing individual expression. Composition and drawing will be<br />

studied before we begin to paint our subject matter in gestural brush<br />

strokes. Participants are required to purchase the following materials:<br />

brushes - 1’ - 1/8’, tubes <strong>of</strong> colors - red, blue, yellow, green, white,<br />

umber, ochre. Participants bring their own supplies. It is recommended<br />

that participants purchase their supplies after the first class.<br />

Cardmaking - Mother & Daughter<br />

Take the time to enrich a child’s life by introducing them to the art <strong>of</strong><br />

card making. Mother and daughter will create six handcrafted cards.<br />

Techniques will include stamping, embossing and embellishing.<br />

you can become the wildlife artist you always wanted to be. For<br />

experienced or beginner students who want to learn how to draw from<br />

Persective, Landscapes, Still Life<br />

students will learn about the landscape and prosective principles. You<br />

will practice 1, 2, 3, point prospective, aerial, perspective, overlapping<br />

perspective and isometric projection. still life drawings will focus on<br />

flowers, fruits and rose arrangements. A supply fee <strong>of</strong> $12.00 is due to<br />

the instructor at the first class.<br />

Sculpture<br />

A study <strong>of</strong> sculpture in 2D & 3D a focus on portrait and animal image.<br />

students will be using self-hardening clay to fashion their sculpture<br />

and acrylics to paint them. A supply fee <strong>of</strong> $20.00 is payable to the<br />

instructor at the first class.<br />
