2013 Vancouver Sun Run - InTraining 10K Run Clinic<br />

Looking for a great way to lose weight, relieve stress, have fun, meet new people, improve your running time, or<br />

simply get fit? This 13-week program is for beginner to advanced runners and walkers. It is designed to gradually<br />

build your strength & stamina, improve overall health & fitness, and increase your mileage so that you are ready<br />

to complete one <strong>of</strong> the world’s most popular 10K run/walk events – the Vancouver Sun Run. Registration includes:<br />

an InTraining T-Shirt & Logbook, entry into the 2013 Vancouver Sun Run (includes a souvenir T-Shirt), and 13<br />

weeks <strong>of</strong> training and information sharing from SportMedbC qualified fitness leaders.<br />

NCCP Coaching Courses<br />

The National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) prepares coaches for the responsibilities associated with<br />

coaching athletes <strong>of</strong> all ages and abilities. Training and certification is based on coaching streams (community,<br />

competition & instruction) and contexts that reflect different types <strong>of</strong> coaching. Within the competition stream,<br />

the theory context has been packaged into a new Competency based education and Training (CbeT) program that<br />

includes two 12-hour courses called “Introduction to Competition Part A” and “Part b”.<br />

Fundamental Movement Skills – Coach Development Workshop<br />

The FMS Workshop focuses on the importance <strong>of</strong> physical literacy and the identification<br />

and improvement <strong>of</strong> fundamental movement skills that are the foundation <strong>of</strong> solid sport<br />

specific skills. This workshop is designed for community coaches, managers, parents and<br />

teachers.<br />
