This 32 hour course is the first step towards your new fitness career!<br />
Course includes an introduction to anatomy, physiology, nutrition &<br />
exercise. It will prepare you to write the bCRPA Fitness Theory exam<br />
and will also enhance your own personal workouts and knowledge.<br />
* This course is a prerequisite for the Weight Training course. Course<br />
fee includes manual and workbook.<br />

This 16 hour course teaches principles that will allow you to design,<br />
modify and instruct safe, effective and appropriate exercise programs in<br />
a weight room setting. this course will enable you to provide equipment<br />
orientation and weight room monitoring. *this course is a prerequisite<br />
for the Personal Trainer course. Course fee includes manual.<br />

Come down to the Parkinson <strong>Rec</strong>reation Centre and try one <strong>of</strong> our<br />
fitness classes for free, while you are helping out your community!<br />
Free introductory classes <strong>of</strong>fer the opportunity to try one <strong>of</strong> the many<br />
programs, providing you the skills and techniques you should know<br />
before starting a new activity.<br />
For one week, parkinson <strong>Rec</strong>reation centre Fitness classes are FRee<br />
with a non-perishable donation to the <strong>Kelowna</strong> community Food Bank.<br />
babysitting Service is available for all morning classes. See page 19 for<br />
fees and times. No Aqua Fitness Classes.<br />

Group Fitness<br />
Location: Kinsmen Fieldhouse Hall<br />

This 16 hour module teaches principles and practices that will allow<br />
you to design and instruct a variety <strong>of</strong> safe, effective and appropriate<br />
Group Fitness classes. Skills will be mastered through practice teaching<br />
and peer and instructor evaluation. this course is a must if you plan to<br />
teach bootcamps or Zumba. Manual included. Prerequisite - Fitness<br />
theory<br />

Personal Trainer<br />

Location: Parkinson recreation Centre, Gala<br />
Personal Trainer-a term used to describe pr<strong>of</strong>essionals who work with<br />
clients to improve their physical and mental well being. this course<br />
covers advanced weight training techniques, fitness assessment,<br />
advanced program design, special populations, nutrition, health<br />
screening, current business practices, legal liability and pr<strong>of</strong>essional<br />
ethics.<br />
