“Move for Your Health”<br />
ProGrAMS<br />
These free programs are funded by a onetime grant through the Interior health Authority, Integrated health Network<br />
Community Capacity Fund. Programs will be led by certified fitness instructors who have completed the “Keep on<br />
Moving” fitness instructor education course developed by the Strategic health Alliance.“Move for Your health” exercise<br />
programs are designed for individuals with or at risk <strong>of</strong> chronic health conditions as well as the general public. All <strong>of</strong> the<br />
programs are structured to provide a safe exercise option as they adhere to the following guidelines:<br />
• <strong>of</strong>fers a minimum 30 minute class with appropriate warm up and cool down<br />
• Includes a variety <strong>of</strong> fitness components including aerobic, strength, flexibility, balance, agility and coordination<br />
• Provides multiple methods to monitor intensity during exercise and encourages daily aerobic exercise<br />
• Provides health screening for all participants and obtains medical clearance for special populations<br />
• Demonstrates a documented emergency plan with telephone access to eMs<br />
• Demonstrates the availability <strong>of</strong> an AeD with appropriate instructor training<br />
Move for Your Health - Balance Matters<br />
This class is suitable for participants who are at risk <strong>of</strong> falling. Class utilizes chairs and<br />
other equipment to challenge participants’ balance with safe and effective exercises.<br />
