parliamentary election, Carlson <strong>and</strong> Djupsund (2001: 73-4) found that younger c<strong>and</strong>idates<br />

had campaign websites at a significantly higher rate than the older c<strong>and</strong>idates. In the 2004<br />

EP election, Carlson <strong>and</strong> Str<strong>and</strong>berg (2005) also found a significant independent effect<br />

for younger c<strong>and</strong>idate age.<br />

Focus is now turned solely to major-party c<strong>and</strong>idates in order to further illustrate<br />
