The logic of the measure is quite simple; the higher the value the better the intensity of<br />

the debate. It is noteworthy, however, that this measure is sensitive to differences<br />

between different discussion boards, <strong>and</strong> should not be considered an absolute figure but<br />

rather seen as a tool for comparison. Table 3 shows the intensity of the debates on the<br />

party-associated discussion boards for the three coding periods.<br />
