The grid is located adjacent to a row <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> riverside housing. The next nearest boatyard<br />

facilities are located upstream at Brentford, namely MSO Marine C<strong>on</strong>structi<strong>on</strong>, SPL<br />

Marine and Brentford Dock Marina.<br />

There is no vehicular access to <strong>the</strong> Grid. It is <strong>on</strong>ly possible to reach it by foot (al<strong>on</strong>g<br />

<strong>the</strong> towpath) or by boat.<br />

Comments (2007)<br />

Following <strong>the</strong> 2000 study <strong>the</strong> PLA leased <strong>the</strong> grid to Michael Woolf who spent about<br />

£12,000 <strong>on</strong> repairs but had <strong>on</strong>ly 3 – 4 users so returned <strong>the</strong> lease to <strong>the</strong> PLA. The<br />

reas<strong>on</strong> for <strong>the</strong> lack <str<strong>on</strong>g>of</str<strong>on</strong>g> demand was that <strong>the</strong> grid was useful for inspecti<strong>on</strong>s but has<br />

no facilities if repairs were needed.<br />
