(< 37.1 °C) is noted in 99% of 8 to 24 hours before parturition
following a decrease in progesterone (thermogenic hormone). Please
note that the temperature may fluctuate during late pregnancy and
cause errors of interpretation (“pseudo-fall” premature, unmarked

the first dosage of progesterone is performed when the pregnancy
is estimated at 55 to 60 days (post-ovulation). Please note that the dating

3. SCHEDULE C-SECTION: A METHOD OF CHOICE FOR
MANAGING A PLANED CAESAREAN
The date of C-section is planed according to the ovulation date. The principle
is to administer an antagonist of progesterone receptors to mimic the
drop of progesterone prior parturition. Injecting aglepristone (Alizine ® , 10
mg/kg SC) is performed at 60-61 days of gestation, before any parturition
is induced.
