In this work, we did a case study about the intertextual aspects which constitutes the<br />
discourse about environment in a Brazilian quality newspaper monthly supplement on<br />
Environmental Issues. The analysis of the editions published in the fist year of the<br />
magazine allow us to make a characterization of the heterogeneity of this supplement,<br />
so as the identification of their most important interlocutors and the most important<br />
constitutive elements of their discourse about environment. Departing from the<br />
framework of the critical discourse analysis we did our methodological draw; formulate<br />
our questions and use the category of manifest intertextuality and vocabulary analysis<br />
for generate and discuss our <strong>da</strong>ta. Our <strong>da</strong>ta indicates that the environment discourse of<br />
the newspaper supplement creates a dialogue primarily with the political and economic<br />
sectors of the society and use primarily discourses elements from this sectors to<br />
constitute their discourse about environment. Beside of this, the supplement works with<br />
the sustainability concept from the productive sectors without dialogue with the<br />
discussion of this concept in the academic and scientific circles. In this sense, we<br />
believe that the supplement acts like a semiotic mediator that promotes the political and<br />
economic discourse about the environment which contributes with the establishment of<br />
the hegemony of these sectors in the environmental field. With the possibilities of use of<br />
this kind of texts in pe<strong>da</strong>gogical contexts ,we try to contribute for the development of a<br />
critical, view and appropriation, of this texts to improve the use of this kind of texts in<br />
education.<br />
